Skär Organics began as a question: what if the smallest things in our homes could shape the world?

Founded in 2019 by Fraser and Chloë Malyk, Skär Organics is a family business grounded in the belief — that restoration begins not in boardrooms or policies, but in households. In what we choose to light, to breathe in, to surround ourselves with.

We created the UK’s first certified organic candles not as a marketing milestone, but as a small act of reordering. A response to a broken industry — and a broken assumption: that the way things are is the way they must stay.

Every candle tells a story. Not only of scent and flame, but of what came before — and what could be. A wick may seem simple, but its sourcing speaks volumes. It can trace a path through pesticide-laced fields and dying bee colonies, or through farms and forests where life is nurtured, not extracted.

Organic certification is more than a label to us — it’s a covenant. Every ingredient in our candles is held to the strictest ecological standards. Our beeswax, for example, must come from apiaries surrounded by at least 3km of organic or wild vegetation — free from pesticides, roads, and other contaminants. This protects not just the bees, but the beekeepers, the soil, the water, the home.

Our work is careful. Each candle is handmade — poured or dipped by hand, as it has been for centuries. We draw from an ancient craft, using only the purest ingredients we can find — chosen not for trends, but for their integrity. Designed to burn clean, last long, and dwell beautifully in the spaces you call home.
